A production company's demo reel is one of the most powerful variables in choosing one company over another.  A well done demo rell should convey the depth and breadth of a company's ability, featuring prominent work and a range of techniques.  A reel with a lot of great content can truly swing a client towards a particular company, but how do you know if the content on the demo reel actually was done by that particular company?

This is a report on a test ran at our production facility recently.  We had read the articles and heard from fellow producers that MiniDV, DVCAM and HDV tapes were essentially interchangeable.  We decided to actually test this theory on are Sony HV1U Camera which supports all three formats.
